Melissa has an integrated understanding of technology, law and deal making which has led to a successful career in the pharmaceuticals and financial services industries. She is currently a principle at Remedii LLC and is focused on building a portfolio of Board roles that will enable leadership teams to benefit from her broad experience.
From 2013 to 2015 she was Head of Digital Medicines and Senior Director of M&A at Novartis AG. Prior to joining Novartis, she served as Vice President of Global Technology & Intellectual Property at Barclays Capital where she was responsible for advising executive management on matters related to technology, intellectual property, anti-trust law, securities law and acquisition strategies. She also held the role of Senior Counsel of Global Intellectual Property at MetLife where she was responsible for overseeing and providing general business advice on technology matters, developing MetLife’s overall IP strategy, as well as advising on significant tort and intellectual property litigation strategies.
Earlier in her career, Melissa worked at the New York Law firms of White & Case and Kaye Scholer where she specialized in intellectual property, securities litigation and prosecution of international biotechnology patent portfolios.
Melissa received a JD from UCLA School of Law and has a BSc in Biochemistry and Political Science. She is admitted to practice in New York, Texas and before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
